A couple days ago, a new book came onto the market. I haven’t read it yet, but will be soon. But, I think the concept of the story is so neat, I just had to share it with you now.
JOY FOR BEGINNERS
By Erica Bauermeister
On Sale June 9, 2011
It tells the story of a group of seven women who gather for an intimate, outdoor dinner in Seattle to celebrate their friend Kate’s recovery from cancer. Wineglass in hand, Kate agrees to a pact: she’ll go white-water rafting down the Grand Canyon, a journey which frankly terrifies her. But if she goes, each of them must also do one thing in the next year that is new or difficult or scary – and Kate gets to choose their challenges.
Read the first chapter HERE.
Even though I haven’t read the book yet, I can see this would be an excellent choice for book clubs. I can already hear the discussions. Would you be willing to face your biggest fear for your friend?
