I feel like I have a pretty good understanding of the Bible. I have taught numerous Bible stories to children over the years and attended Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) an international women’s Bible study. So I have a fairly good knowledge base, but there is still so much to learn. I have a much deeper understanding of the Bible after reading Anders’ book.
Anders was inspired to write this book after meeting a woman who wanted help understanding the Bible in a hurry. When he couldn’t find any resources to offer her, he wrote this book. Over 500,000 copies have been sold which proves it is a resource that was appreciated by people all over the world. This new thirtieth-anniversary edition expands on the most requested topics and is updated from the original version. This book is for people who are both familiar and unfamiliar with the Bible. If you have ever been confused about the timeline of events, how all the people in the Bible are connected, or want a different Bible study to enhance your learning then this is the book for you.
By spending fifteen minutes a day, you can study the Bible in just thirty days time. I was impressed by the simplicity of the layout. The text is written for “laypeople”, not necessarily pastors or church leaders. But, I would say it could benefit leaders in learning how to teach others from various parts of the text of the Bible. Truly anyone can start from the beginning and whether they are opening the Bible for the first time or hundredth time, there is much to learn from the Bible by going through this book.
Each chapter includes tables, timelines, charts, or maps to offer the clearest understanding. Then the end of each chapter has a brief quiz to check for your own understanding. Some of my favorite sections included the nanosummary of the Bible and the tips on mastering the Bible. There are also online resources available to you as a reader which is helpful if you are using this book to lead a Bible study. I have always had trouble with the geography piece of where certain stories took place and where people lived and traveled. This book contained maps and detailed explanations with current maps to help me relate and understand all the locations.
This is a book that will stay on my bookshelf, next to my Bible, concordance, and other study materials. Next time I come across a section I need an understanding, this book will serve as another reference to build on my learning and understanding. I highly recommend this for home and church libraries, for churches looking for a new Bible study, or for those who want to start or continue their learning of God’s word. Even before this book was released, it was ranked #1 in New Release Books in Christian and Bible History on Amazon.

In my book at the end it gives a web address of http://www.thomasnelson.com/30days to print off electronic copies but that is not working – how could I have access for electronic copies?
I would contact the author directly at support@maxanders.com.
