Summer is here….even if the weather doesn’t make it feel like it. Of course we haven’t had the “official” first day of summer, but in our house, when school is over, summer begins. Today is our daughter’s last day of school. I’m still riding a charter bus across the country to Florida with the high school band/choir kids. So, in my book, that means summer.

I have twelve weeks of summer this year, so I chose twelve fiction and six non-fiction books to carry me through the summer. It seems like a lot, but once I get back from Florida, I don’t have too much on my plate.

Since I’ve already talked about these books, I’m just sharing the photos of what I’m planning to read. Of course, this is just a plan. Something else may fall into my path and force me to read it! LOL! I’ve taken three of these along with me on the trip. Hours and hours on a bus should give me plenty of time to read!

Summer Reading – Fiction

These fiction books include new releases, yet-to-be released, and a few backlist titles. It’s heavy on historical fiction (my favorite), but also has some romance and mystery. A great assortment if you ask me!

Summer Reading – Non-Fiction

These include books that have been on my shelf for a while as well as new releases. Some are books I purchased myself and others are for review. There is a nice assortment of personal reflection and memoir which are my favorite non-fiction books to read.

I hope you have a summer reading list that you are looking forward to diving into. Summer is too short to not spend some of it reading!

It looks like you’re in for a lot of good reading. I’ve read What Made Maddy Run and Save Me the Plums and I thought both were excellent.

    It’s definitely summer here.

    Have fun on your trip!
