If you are looking for a toddler gift this upcoming Christmas season, this collection of stories would be an excellent choice. This gorgeous book has a colorful cover to catch toddler’s attention and includes eight sweet stories by the beloved author Margaret Wise Brown. Two of the stories include COUNT TO TEN WITH A MOUSE and SLEEP TIGHT, SLEEPY BEARS which I’ve already reviewed and loved.
The heavyweight paper is perfect for young children because it is harder to tear. The book has that special feel and look. Taking it out at bedtime to read a quick story will make that time feel special. Simple text along with gorgeously detailed and soft pictures will keep toddlers engaged and begging for one more story.
Two stories about seasons and nature have a more poetic tone to them, while “The Tickly Spider” is more of an actual story of a boy that watches a spider in the flower garden. The illustrations by Linda Bleck in this story are top-notch.
This book is the kind of book to become a classic in your home and read over and over again. It’s perfect for those special moments reading aloud before bedtime.
