Travel through the year and experience all the colors of each season on these pages. Poetic rhymes describe the joy of each season and how each season still has a connection to the color green.
Starting with Spring and all the joys including the flowers, the bees, the birds, and the rain children can see all the things to celebrate each and every season. Summer is full of beaches and picnics and reading books in the sun. Fall focuses on the foods and scents of the season including cinnamon, pumpkin, and corn. Winter reminds us of the cold, but also the sparkle and the peaceful evenings. Then we are back to Spring.
These illustrations are gorgeous and the words as you read them are calming and joyful. The family in this story is especially excited for Spring to arrive as there will also be a new special arrival. Children can start to notice the changes in the mom starting in Summer.
I just think this is a beautiful story to teach the seasons, the colors, and of course, as a way to get a child excited about a new sibling arriving in the family. The illustrations in the book are gorgeous enough to want to frame and hang on your wall.

She’s the author of several picture books including WHO EATS ORANGE? which I reviewed in 2018. Dianne lives with her family in Gilbert, Arizona. Find out more on her website, HERE.
Felicita Sala has illustrated several picture books as well as her own book of recipes for children, LUNCH AT 10 POMEGRANATE STREET. She grew up in both Italy and Australia and now lives in Rome, Italy with her family.
