All Cat wants to do is sleep, but you keep turning the pages and keeping him awake. He eventually convinces you to also decide to fall asleep, but then Cat is wide awake and wants to play.
This book reminds me of THE MONSTER AT THE END OF THIS BOOK where if you keep turning the pages, you’ll come across the monster, and at the end, the monster is Grover, himself. This book is the same concept, turning the pages will keep Cat awake and, of course, kids will find it silly that Cat is getting angry every time a page is turned.
The words are large and the cat illustrations are bright, with vivid expressions. There are lots of onomatopoeias, so even younger children will remember the words and sounds and be able to read along. This is a board book, perfect for young children to read before bedtime. The end of the book encourages your child to find another book to read, so make sure this one is first in your pile!
