A gorgeous book that celebrates art from the Mona Lisa to New York graffiti and the joy of visiting New York City. The Mona Lisa is set to travel to New York City to be hung in the Metropolitan Museum of Art for local visitors to see. The Mona Lisa is used to be seen and known by millions. On her last night, she slips out of her frame to tour the city. But, to her surprise, no one notices her and she gets lost in the city.
While Mona Lisa worries she won’t make it back to the museum in time, she comes across another piece of art, graffiti. Tag, from Brooklyn, takes Mona Lisa to all his favorite places in New York City.
The art on the full-spread pages uses texture, collages, and various papers to make the pages vibrant. Mona Lisa and the art pop on the pages. Whether Tag and Mona Lisa are eating pizza, or salsa dancing, or swimming they are happy. This is a unique book to learn about the Mona Lisa and also to share in the joy of experiencing New York City.
