Non-Fiction Board Book

I’ve shared many of Sue Lowell Gallion’s books here including OUR WORLD which is the companion to her most recent OUR SEASONS. Like OUR WORLD, OUR SEASONS is also a board book that opens up into a 3D globe.

On each page, there is text that is written in a rhyming scheme for younger readers and then in smaller type, there is more information that explains the season and what happens as we enter and exit the season. The illustrations are quite lovely, my favorite being the Spring page with the sweet baby lambs, green hills, and flowers blooming.

The end of the book explains our orbit around the sun and how the seasons change. There is a page that includes all the continents and how each continent has different weather based on location in the world at that time.

This book is a great addition to a classroom as there are opportunities for learning for all levels of readers. Plus it makes a great classroom display. Order both OUR WORLD and OUR SEASONS for your child’s classroom.

Sue Lowell Gallion writes for children because she is passionate about children, reading, and any combination of the two! She’s the author of the award-winning Pug Meets Pig picture book series and the celebrated nonfiction Our World, A First Book of Geography. For more on Sue Lowell Gallion, check out her website, HERE.

Lisk Feng is an award-winning illustrator from China and a graduate of the Maryland Institute College of Art. She has worked as a commercial illustrator for such clients as New Yorker, New York Times, and Chanel.
