Children’s Book Week is celebrated twice a year, one week in May and one week in November. Kids everywhere can join in the fun of Children’s Book Week. The How Do You Book? Challenge asks young readers to explore what they read, how they read, and where they read. For more information about Children’s Book Week, click HERE. Fiction
The construction site crew is on a new job, this time on the farm. Working on a farm takes a whole team and everyone has a very important job to do starting with prepping the fields for planting. Traveling through a whole year on the farm, the construction crew works together with the farm crew to get a new barn built before the cold winter winds arrive.
Kids will learn about all the seasons on the farm starting with Spring and ending in Winter. There are important jobs that need to be done to lead farmers into the next season and every piece of equipment is necessary to work together to get everyone ready. The Skid Steer may be clearing pen floors in the spring and then uses an auger to dig holes for the barn posts. Skid steer will next help put in all the barn stalls and when winter comes, her forklift moves the bales around to feed the animals.
Kids will find a combine, a cement mixer, a bulldozer, and of course, lots of tractors on the pages of this story. The illustrations show a whole farm in action and the beauty of each season as you turn the pages. With a rhyming scheme and a story of hard work and being part of the whole team, kids will love learning about the important work happening on the farm.
