When your mom is a scientist, sometimes you have to wait for an experiment to finish or a bright idea to be investigated. But, when a mom promises her son a sundae, you can be sure he won’t forget.
He tries not to be too impatient while waiting for the promised ice cream trip. In between his mom’s scientific explanations, he drops a few not-so-subtle hits and finally gets his ice cream trip along with an out-of-this-world story of a world where everything is ice cream.
This is such a great story of the love between a mom and her son who connect over science and ice cream. Among the silliness and over-the-top adventure is the underlying theme of a loving relationship between parent and child, the joy of a trip to an ice cream shop, and a vivid imagination to go along on the trip. Andy’s illustrations are the cherry on top of this great book!
