LITTLE MONSTER SAYS GOODNIGHT

It’s time for bed, but at Little Monster’s house, bedtime looks a little different than what we are used to. Starting with some sour milk and burnt cookies, your child will be a little confused. By the time they get to the toothbrushing, when Little Monster’s mom reminds him to leave disgusting glops of fangpaste all over the place, your child will surely be giggling about the bedtime routine.
Little Monster loves a good bedtime story but not for the reasons you think! His bedtime stories are tasty! A drink before bed? Sure! He takes a drink from the fish bowl. A messy room with banana peels and apple cores is just what Little Monster needs to fall asleep. Even though these are all opposite of what we want at bedtime, there is something that kids and little monsters have in common at bedtime, to be tucked in and kissed on the nose.
The vibrant illustrations and silliness on the pages will make this a favorite at bedtime. The hilarious bedtime routine by Little Monster and his mom might also be part of your bedtime routine. I also highly recommend Slonim’s children’s book HE CAME WITH THE COUCH, another hilarious read-aloud.
David Slonim is the author-illustrator of “He Came With the Couch” and “Oh, Ducky!: A Chocolate Calamity”, and the illustrator of “Moishe’s Miracle” by Laura Krauss Melmed, which was recognized by The New York Times as one of the Ten Best Illustrated Children’s Books of the Year. A Rhode Island School of Design graduate, he has four adult children and several grandchildren. David and his wife live in Indiana. Check out his website, HERE.
