Flora is back in this new interactive board book to teach kids about colors. Together with her favorite bird friends, Flora shares colors, how they can blend and make new colors, and at the end form the most beautiful rainbow.
Red opens up to a page of red birds flying out of a red tree. Then the red and yellow tree pages open up to reveal a tree of red and yellow birds coming together to make orange. This pattern continues with yellow and blue making green, then blue and red making purple. But, when you put red and yellow and blue together, you make a rainbow. The whole book magically opens up to a rainbow of little birds flying behind Flora in a beautiful rainbow.
Teaching the basic colors and showing how two colors mix and make a new color help your toddler understand the basic beginnings of the color wheel. But, most of all they will love Flora and her joy on the page as she watches the birds fly and make colors.
Molly Idle is the author and illustrator of the Caldecott Honor-winning picture book Flora and the Flamingo, and all of the stories featuring Flora and her fine feathered friends.
