I’m thrilled to share another book by one of my favorite children’s authors, Laura Gehl. In her newest book, her lyrical and rhyming prose celebrates a snowy day. I remember the joy of our children as they would wake up and look outside to see snow covering the ground. As an adult, I love the stillness of a new snowfall and the beauty of the flakes slowly falling from the sky.
A boy, his dad, and their dog enjoy a morning in the snow from building a snowman to sledding down the hill to a snowball fight and building a snow fort. A day playing in the snow is a day full of fun that must end with some warm cookies and snuggles by the fire. On the last page, the child is tucked into bed which also makes this a great bedtime story as well.
Sonia’s illustrations show the beauty of a snowy day and the excitement on the child’s face. Celebrate the joy of a mid-winter snowfall by reading SNOW IS… with your child.
