SANTA’S STORY

Fiction
As a homage to Hillenbrand’s own childhood tradition, he wrote this book about Santa trying to gather up the reindeer for their important night of deliveries. But, Santa can’t find the reindeer. They are off dancing, prancing, vexing, crooning, and dozing. Until finally, Santa remembers that it’s storytime. Once he reads the beloved THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS, then all the reindeer are ready for their big night.
Hillenbrand’s illustrations are adorable from the little bunnies to the fluffy snowflakes to the snowman using the snowblower. The pages have minimal words so kids can really focus on the pictures.
My favorite part of the story is when Santa tried to round up the reindeer by playing the Swiss alphorn. My parents brought one home from Switzerland many years ago and I loved playing it as a kid.
Get kids excited for the upcoming Christmas season with this delightful book from Will Hillenbrand.
