Fiction/Board Book
When a group of friends moves in next door, they find only a single mixing bowl. They will have to visit the neighbors to find everything they need to make cookies and maybe meet some new friends along the way.
With over 60 lift-the-flaps throughout the book, there are all kinds of fun things to find in the various neighbors’ apartments. Each page has a colored theme to help each new apartment stand out. As the friends go door to door, they ask for butter, chocolate chips, flour, vanilla, salt, and oats. Each page offers a door to open and see what the friends are needing. There are several other items to search for and look under including a bird, a pizza, muffins, or the flour they need for the recipe.
At the end of the story, of course, there are cookies to share with everyone and by asking for all the ingredients, you could now show your child how to make cookies just like the friends in the story did. There are so many items on each page, there are lots of ways to read the book and look for items both on the page and hidden behind a flap. Kids will learn colors, shapes, as well as the joy of sharing with our neighbors.
