When March arrives, I am in full-on Spring mode. I’m listening for those first chirps from the robins in our yard and looking for the flowers to peek out from under the cold dirt. You can get your child excited for all the best sounds of nature with this new book of nature sounds from your backyard and all over.
From the sounds of your favorite backyard birds to sounds you might hear in the meadow to the nighttime sounds in the field these all might be familiar sounds. But this book also includes sounds from the North Pole, the beach, and the ocean. Your child will soon recognize the picture and connect it to the sound whether it is an animal or an insect or what it sounds like to skip rocks across the pond.
The thick board book pages offer flashcard-like images along with the habitat for the animals. Each item pictured is labeled including the familiar and the unfamiliar. Your child will likely know what a bumblebee looks and sounds like but maybe not the skylark or what it sounds like to make music with a leaf whistle. When your child presses the button for the sound, they will hear the narration of the label and then the sound so they can connect the picture to the sound.
This fun book will inspire your child to go outside and listen to their own backyard nature sounds.
