From honey bees to spiders to butterflies to ants to damselflies to stick insects, this book offers a peek into the world of these fascinating insects and critters. Frankly, I didn’t even know about a damselfly or a stick insect even though they look like a dragonfly and a praying mantis respectively. But, they are different insects.
With short explanations about how the insect goes about their day gathering food or making their home along with quite detailed and amazing laser cutouts on the page, kids will be engaged and excited to learn about bugs. Even the cover has a cutout of a butterfly with the inside cover including the laser cutout and the title page including the beautiful yellow swallowtail butterfly.
Along with sharing about the life of the bug, children will also learn about their typical predators like birds, lizards, fish, and owls. Some of the insects have a hierarchy as in the lives of the honeybees and the ants. Kids will also learn if the male or female insect looks different as well as learn about their life cycle.
This book, with stunning illustrations and laser-cut pages, will hold kids’ attention and interest them in learning all about the secret life of bugs and other little critters.
