Top 12 Books I Read in 2024

I’ve narrowed down the 78 books I read in 2024 to the Top 12 Books I Read in 2024. But, before I reveal them, I will share a bit about my reading in 2024.

All the Bookish Stats

I read 78 books this year plus I read and shared 101 children’s books with you. I’ll share about those 101 children’s books in another post. Of those 78 books, 23 books were for review and 55 were ones I chose to read.

Of those 78 books, I gave 28 of them 5 stars. But, what is surprising is that I gave another 28 books 4 stars. That means 72% of the books I read I really enjoyed. Which means I am honing in on what I really like in a book. When I look over the list of 5-star reads, I notice a lot of nonfiction and historical fiction sprinkled with some general fiction and middle-grade titles. Family stories combined with a historical setting are my jam and I found several of those that I loved this last year.

From the 28, 5-star reads, I narrowed it down to the Top 12 Books I Read in 2024. In this list, you’ll find historical fiction, family dramas, and some great nonfiction that taught me about grieving and the joys of reading. Four of the books were ones I received for review and I’m so thankful to the publishers for putting those books on my radar.
