This is THE book for classic Disney movie fans! Rather than focusing on the princesses or heroines in all the favorite Disney movies, this book instead focuses on the villains, those characters we love to hate but have such key roles in each of the movies.  Each of these characters was created for the sole purpose of being hateful, vile, and evil. The movies wouldn’t have been the same without their famous lines and characteristics. These evil characters were just as fun to create as their sweet counterparts. Find out all about their unique traits in this fun chapter book.

Among fabulous illustrations and bulleted characteristics like skills, prized possessions, likes and dislikes, readers can learn all about what made these characters so evil and despised. As an adult, I found this book so fun. It’s been a while since I’ve watched most of these movies and reading this book made me want to have a Disney movie marathon and watch them all again.

The villains included in the book are:

Evil Queen (Snow White) – dislikes NOT being the fairest in the land!
Jafar (Aladdin) – is ironically stuck in a genie bottle for the rest of his life
Mother Gothel (Rapunzel) –  climbs towers to keep fit
Lady Tremaine (Cinderella) – dislikes mice
Ursula (The Little Mermaid) – dislikes banishment
Scar (Lion King) – main skill is manipulation
Cruella De Vil (101 Dalmatians) – likes high fashion and dislikes dogs
Gaston (Beauty and the Beast) – dislikes books with too many words ??
Maleficent (Sleeping Beauty) – dislikes good fairies
Queen of Hearts (Alice in Wonderland) – likes croquet and winning
Captain Hook (Peter Pan) – dislikes being called “Codfish”
Hades (Hercules) -likes causing chaos
Dr. Facilier (The Princess and the Frog) – prior work experience, swindler

Beyond the bulleted characteristics, there are a few pages of dialog with another character from the movie. The dialog usually relates to their demise and is pretty funny. This book is more for fun and not something you would want your child reading for school. But, it’s a nice break and certainly a must for Disney fans of all ages.
