Books make the best gifts. I may be a little biased, but I love giving books as gifts. I think they offer a personal connection. You are either saying, I loved this book and I think you will too. If you have a dog at your house, this book is the perfect companion to your canine companion and a motivator to get your kids to learn more about what makes your dog tick.
National Geographic takes kids through all the parts of being a dog including their senses and how their brains work. From teaching your dog tricks to giving them taste tests to why they like to go to the bathroom in the same spot and so much more. We don’t have a dog in our house, but if we did, I would be just as excited as a kid to try out some of these experiments on our dog. I was fascinated by how their tongue catches the water in their water bowl. Hint…it makes the shape of a certain letter of the alphabet! I also had no idea there are animal blood banks. I don’t know why I hadn’t thought of that before, but it totally makes sense. Also, a dog’s nose print is unique, like our fingerprints.
Kids can learn how to make doggy snacks and even a coat for their dog! This book is a great way for kids to get to know their dog and understand why they made do some of the crazy things dogs do. Lots of great photos of dogs, easy explanations for the experiments, and fun activities are included.
